The All-State Honor Ensembles are held in February each year in conjunction with the California All-State Music Education Conference annual convention in Fresno, California. Beginning the previous fall, several thousand middle school students from schools throughout the state audition each year for an opportunity to participate in one of the All-State Honor Ensembles. The highest-ranking musicians judged, qualify to perform in one of California All-State Bands, Orchestras, and Choirs. These All-State ensembles rehearse for three days, directed by nationally recognized conductors, and perform on the closing day of the annual CASMEC (California All-State Music Education Conference).
Cabrillo's music department has had students qualify each year to participate in these ensembles. We are very proud of our CMS musicians who work so hard to elevate thier playing level to achieve this honor and represent our school and our community at this state level.
